Monday, April 8
History Ski Tour: Aspen Highlands (11 a.m. and 1 p.m., guest service cabin outside Merry Go Round). Ski with a local historian to learn about Aspen Highlands’ “maverick”, innovative, and unique past. These tours meet every Monday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The tours are free, but a lift ticket is required to get to the meeting location.
Tuesday, April 9
Anderson Ranch Arts Center Spring Open House (4:30 p.m., Anderson Ranch). Come one, come all, as Anderson Ranch opens its doors to the community in recognition of their Spring Artists-in-Residence. Enjoy Artists-in-Residence studio tours, children’s art activities, shopping in the ArtWorks store and a community dinner at the Ranch Café.
Michael McDonald at Belly Up (9:00 p.m., Belly Up). Spend your evening with five-time Grammy Award-winning artist, Michael McDonald. His distinct and soulful voice will keep you captivated all night. Purchase tickets online here or at the box office.
Wednesday, April 10
Art & Walking Tours: Herbert Bayer Mountains & Convolutions 1944-1953 (11:00 a.m., Doerr-Hosier Center). Join Aspen Institute Art Curator Lissa Ballinger as you learn about the beginnings of modern Aspen, and of the Aspen Institute by touring this Bauhaus-inspired campus designed by Herbert Bayer.
Thursday, April 11
Historic Pub Crawl (3:30 p.m., The Red Onion). Take a guided tour of Aspen’s historic haunts, where you’ll learn about the establishment’s history and hear local lore. The tour meets at the Red Onion, continues to Aspen Public House and Aspen Brewing Company at Aspen Tap, and finishes at J-Bar at the Hotel Jerome. Reservations are required and can be made when you call 970.925.3721.
Friday, April 12
Retro Film Series: Decades of Skiing Aspen/Snowmass (5:30 p.m., Limelight Hotel). Join Aspen Historical Society at the Limelight Hotel to explore skiing’s illustrious past in the Aspen/Snowmass area. This community series features a wide range of vintage films from the Aspen Historical Society collection. Spanning four decades, the visual histories bring retro skiing to life on the big screen!
Saturday, April 13
Guided Tour at Aspen Art Museum (1:00 p.m., Aspen Art Museum). Spend your afternoon at the Aspen Art Museum in a guided tour led by museum staff. The tour is free, and drop-ins are welcome.
Sunday, April 14
Aspen Highlands Closing Party (All day, Aspen Highlands). Don't miss the biggest party of the year Closing Day at Aspen Highlands. Dressing up is not required but strongly recommended! Enjoy a live DJ, hilarious costumes and a festive atmosphere as locals and guests say "until next time" to the slopes of Aspen Highlands.
This season has been so good, Aspen Snowmass has added two more weekends to celebrate! Aspen Highlands will remain open April 19 - 21 and 26 - 28 for spring skiing on over 1,000 acres and over 100 trails.
