Friday, December 21

JAS Café: Sweet Lu Olutosin (8 p.m., downstairs at The Little Nell). Join Sweet Lu Olutosin for the first winter performance of the season for the JAS Café series. Whether it’s headlining at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C or, playing the Teatro Rendano in Consenza, Italy, Lu’s performances are life changing. Saturday, December 22

Cliffhouse Full Moon Uphill Dinner (5 p.m., Buttermilk Mountain). Skin or hike up Tiehack on Buttermilk to dinner at Cliffhouse under the full moon. Get there early to enjoy free hot chocolate from 5-6 p.m. around the Cowboy Cauldron over a roaring fire. À la carte dinner options, snacks and a cash bar will be offered inside Cliffhouse. This event is free and open to the public.


Sunday, December 23

Aspen Laugh Festival presents: Melissa Villaseñor (7:30 p.m., Wheeler Opera House). Melissa Villaseñor broke barriers by becoming the first-ever Latina cast member of Saturday Night Live. A comedic impressions expert, she got her start as a semifinalist on “America’s Got Talent” and has been named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 and Rolling Stone's 50 Funniest People Right Now. She tours nationally, headlining clubs and theaters and will release her second music EP later this year, as well as a book of her art. Tickets can be purchased at the Wheeler Opera House box office or online ahead here.



Monday, December 24

Aspen Chapel: The Heart of Christmas (4-4:45 p.m., 6-7 p.m., 8-9 p.m., Aspen Chapel). This Christmas Eve service will be led by Nicholas Vesey with music by Jan Garret & JD Martin and candlelight carol singing. The 4 p.m. service is for children. All services are free and open to the public.


Tuesday, December 25

Merry Christmas from ACRA!

The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute (6:30 p.m., Wheeler Opera House). The Emmy Award Winning Fab Four is elevated far above every other Beatles Tribute due to their precise attention to detail. With uncanny, note-for-note live renditions of Beatles' classics such as "Can't Buy Me Love," "Yesterday," "A Day In The Life," "Twist And Shout," "Here Comes The Sun," and "Hey Jude", the Fab Four will make you think you are watching the real thing. Tickets can be purchased online here or at the Wheeler Opera House.

Wednesday, December 26

ACES Après Holiday Open House (3:30 p.m., Hallam Lake). Celebrate the holiday season with warm sips & tasty bites, crafts, and a stroll around Aspen Center for Environmental Studies’ Hallam Lake. This event is free and open to all.

Aspen Film Academy Screenings (through Dec. 30, Wheeler Opera House + Paepcke Auditorim). One of the best of its kind in the continental United States, this film series highlights 20 acclaimed films actively campaigning for Academy Award® consideration. Free to voting members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, British Film and Television Arts, and associated guilds, this popular fixture on Aspen’s holiday calendar is also open to the general public. Thursday, December 27

Hotel Jerome History Tour (1:30 p.m., Hotel Jerome). Aspen’s iconic Hotel Jerome has been at the center of community life since the doors opened in 1889. Join Aspen Historical Society for a guided tour to find out how and why. This tour is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and children under 18.


Friday, December 28

An Evening with Ms. Lauryn Hill (8 p.m., Belly Up). Born in New Jersey to a schoolteacher mother and computer programmer/system’s analyst father, it was obvious from a young age that Ms. Hill possessed extraordinary talents, abilities and propensity for creativity. Tickets for this intimate show at Belly Up can be purchased online or in person at the Belly Up box office.
