Elevating the cultural landscape in Aspen is the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, a contemporary ballet company now nearly two decades old. A deep commitment to curating new ballets while cultivating choreographic talent has resulted in a catalogue of adventurous repertoire. The company’s pioneering spirit arises from a dual set of home cities: Aspen, nestled in the Rocky Mountains, and Santa Fe, gracing the Southwestern plateau. A European sensibility glossed with American ebullience forges ASFB's aesthetic, as the company has come to epitomize the contemporary-classical genre. The company performs at the Aspen District Theater in the summer and winter and also operates four ballet schools year-round throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
Winner of the ACRA Non Profit of the Year, Theatre Aspen features top-flight professional and Broadway artists in a summer repertory season of musicals, plays and comedies. Theatre Aspen School offers camps for kids 5 – 18 June through August. The Hurst Theatre is located in a spectacular setting in the Rio Grande Park, and our lobby and box office are open all day.
Aspen's premier state-of-the-art venue hosts nationally recognized artists and a diverse calendar including pop, rock, country and bluegrass concerts, lectures, theatre, dance, films and community events.
