Aspen Mountain Loyalist
You are fiercely loyal to the mothership mountain, and want to take advantage of all our namesake hill has to offer.
8 am: Join the staff of Aspen Skiing Company for the first run of the day with First Tracks. You will either get to enjoy freshly groomed corduroy or, if you’re really lucky, powder. Advanced reservations (24 hours) are required by calling 970-920-0755 or sign up at the Silver Queen Gondola building.
Continue the morning on Aspen Mountain, riding the “bucket” (as locals refer to the Silver Queen Gondola), and exploring the variety of blue & black runs. Keep your eye out for the famed shrines around the mountain. Often found in the trees on various trails, these shrines pay homage to everything from Marilyn Monroe to the Yankee Stadium. Please note: Aspen Mountain does not have any beginner/green circle runs.
1 pm: Time for lunch at Bonnie’s! This longtime eatery located mid-mountain at the base of North American or Tourtelotte Park is an institution. Known for their homemade bread and an array of desserts (which you choose first!), most famously their Apple Strudel, this is definitely food for your soul.
3 pm or whenever your legs give-out: In the sunshine filled afternoons of March and April, enjoy the deck at Ajax Tavern for après ski. Often times there will be live music or DJ’s to set the vibe for the best people-watching seat in Aspen. From December through March, Chair 9, located inside the Little Nell Hotel, is a great après spot, also featuring live music daily. Cheers!
