Secret Season: Rain or Shine
Secret Season is one of Aspen's best kept secrets. The pace is slow and wildflowers and flowering trees are beginning to blossom. We know that the weather can be unpredictable, so we’ve created our best activities to do rain or shine.
Sunny Day in the Secret Season:
8 a.m: Grab a juice or smoothie over at JUS Café, one of the many local eateries that stay open during our secret season.
9 a.m.-11 a.m: Enjoy the best of Mother Nature during a morning bike ride around Aspen. Rent a bike and cruise through the west end neighborhood or along Rio Grande trail where you’ll ride among blooming dandelions, crab apple trees, and endless greenery.
11:30 a.m: Grab a late breakfast at Jour De Fete, whose French cuisine makes you feel as though you were at café in Paris.
1p.m: Schedule a tee time at Aspen Golf Club’s award-winning course. With unbeatable views and an uncrowded course, Aspen Golf Club offers early season rates. Want to practice your short game? CP Burger offers $5 mini-golf every day in the spring.
3p.m: Learn how to Flyfish on Colorado’s largest stretch of Gold Medal Waters. Head out with Aspen Outfitting Company where they’ll customize an unforgettable trip for your group.
5p.m: Grab happy hour and an early dinner outside at Meat & Cheese Restaurant and Farm Shop. During Secret Season, they offer 15% off everything on the menu and in the farm shop.
7p.m: Head over to Paradise Bakery for dessert where you can choose from many of their baked goods while you sit outside and watch the spring sunset over town.
8p.m: Join the locals at Aspen Tap, Aspen Brewing Company's gastropub, where they serve craft beers, cocktails, wine, food and good music.
Rainy Day in the Secret Season:
8a.m: With lower lodging rates this time of year, you won’t feel guilty sleeping in and cozying up in luxury accommodations.
10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m: Venture over to the Airport Business Center where you can grab a hearty brunch at the delicious Mawa’s Kitchen. Afterword go visit all the loveable pets at Aspen Animal Shelter- you can even take one with you for the day or forever!
1 p.m: Check out the Aspen Art Museum on a complimentary guided tour led by museum staff. Later, grab a quick bite or snack at the delicious SO Café located on the rooftop of the museum with a view of Aspen Mountain.
3:00 p.m: Shop all the local discounts happening around town. You’ll ramp up your wardrobe, while taking it easy on your pocket book, scoring secret season deals.
4 p.m: Take advantage of discounted spa treatments and class rates over at the newly renovated o2 Aspen. There you can wind down your afternoon by indulging in Yoga & Pilates classes and a treatment in their spa located just down the stairs.
7:30 p.m: Spend the rest of your night dancing at Belly Up Aspen, which stays open all spring. You can expect no cover shows consisting of rock, hip-hop, DJs, movie showings, and a night of unlimited fun.
